SUMMARY:Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on implementation research (IR)
DESCRIPTION:Dear Students &amp; Colleagues\,\nWe would like to invite you to participate in the free &quot;Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on\nimplementation research (IR)&quot;\, which will take place from November 14 through December 23\, 2022. \nIntroduction to the course:\nIR is important for designing strategies or solutions to overcome bottlenecks that prevent proven and\ninnovative public health interventions from reaching the people who need them. This ensures that these\ninterventions are used in a manner that results in the outcome for which they were intended.\nThis 6-week MOOC is an in-depth\, online training program taught by leading experts in the field for\npublic health students and researchers/academics\, policymakers\, managers of disease control programs\,\nand other health professionals.\nThe MOOC focuses on core concepts and how to design and evaluate solid IR projects to improve\ncontrol of infectious diseases of poverty and produce better population health outcomes.\nThis MOOC session is organized by the research team from the University Malaya\, UNU-IIGH\, and IHSR\nknown as the TDR Regional Training Centre for Implementation Research in the Western Pacific Region\n(RTC-IR-WPR). \nCourse objective:\nThe objective of the course is to build capacity in how to identify the challenges of various health\nsettings\, assess the appropriateness of existing strategies\, and develop new interventions and strategies\nby working with communities and stakeholders.\nLearning outcomes:\nExperts guide participants through the core concepts of IR\, including modules that address how to:\n Identify the challenges of various health settings;\n Assess the appropriateness of existing disease control strategies;\n Develop new interventions and strategies by working with communities and stakeholders;\n Specify IR questions;\n Design rigorous research projects. This includes how to identify IR outcomes\, evaluate\neffectiveness\, and make plans to scale up;\n implementation in real-life settings. \nBy the end of the course\, it is anticipated that you will be able to:\n design your own implementation research projects;\n critically evaluate and use the evidence produced by other implementation research projects;\n commission robustly designed implementation research projects\nwith the ultimate goal of enhancing the evidence base of effective ways to improve the health of the\npopulations we serve. \nHow to register:\nPlease register by 11th November 2022 to confirm your place.
